Regular readers are already aware that The Great Gatsby has entered the public domain, opening the doors to such spinoffs as Michael Farris Smith's Nick.

But as you might imagine, Nick is far from the only reimagining of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel.

VICE previews some of the fanfiction inspired by The Great Gatsby, for those curious and/or afraid to explore in full, along with a primer on public domain in the US and how it’s changed in the past couple of decades.
