Move over, Amanda Gorman — we have another young literary inspiration.
(We’re kidding! There’s room for multiple writers with incredible personal stories!)
Brayden Harrington, who as a thirteen-year-old bonded with President Joe Biden during his election campaign over stuttering, will publish two books, reports the New York Times.
Harrington’s first book comes out August 10; it’s a picture book titled Brayden Speaks Up and, as you might guess from the title, covers Harrington’s experiences as a child who stutters.
“I only hope my story provides a little extra support and motivation for those that need it,” he said in a statement.
Harrington’s publisher, Harper Collins, also said in the book announcement that he’s planning to write a novel for readers ages eight to twelve next year.
