The American Library Association has announced its choices for the top books, digital media, video, and audiobooks for children and young adults.
You can see all of the awards and their winners in an ALA press release, but here are a few highlights:
The John Newbery medal, which honors an outstanding contribution to children's literature, went to When You Trap A Tiger, by Tae Keller.
The Randolph Caldecott medal, which honors the most distinguished picture book for children, went to We Are Water Protectors, illustrated by Michaela Goade and written by Carole Lindstrom.
Complete lists of the winners and honorees are up on the ALA's awards website.
