Last week, we noticed a Kristin Hannah book on the New York Times bestseller list and thought “huh, we missed that new release.”
Nope — what we’d missed was a Netflix adaptation of a long-ago book, Firefly Lane, that premieres tomorrow.
But the bestselling author of The Nightingale and The Great Alone does have another book coming out in 2021 — or, rather, it came out today.
The Four Winds takes place during the Great Depression and follows a single mother of two who leaves Oklahoma for California, which itself turns out to be no paradise.
But like her older novel that’s seeing new life, The Four Winds hits upon themes of friendship and its life-saving power.
The New York Times spoke with Hannah and her own friends about the power of these bonds, among other topics, in an interview to promote The Four Winds.
