The latest issue of the Immortal Hulk comic has been revised with an apology from its artist.
The Guardian reports that a panel shows a character in front of a storefront window that reads “Cronemberg Jewery” along with a Star of David.
Its artist, Joe Bennett, has publicly apologized for what was partly “an honest but terrible mistake” — the window is seen in reverse, meaning Bennett was drawing backwards when he attempted to sneak in a reference to horror director David Cronenberg.
But Bennett also said he had “no excuse” for including the Star of David.
Marvel, meanwhile, accepted responsibility for not noticing this before printing the issue, new versions of which will feature a blank window in that particular scene.
