Today we're interviewing Tina Marie, a Canadian author who writes contemporary romance. Her interests include reading, cooking, photography and of course writing.

SADYE: How did you come to see yourself as a writer, and what inspired you to seek publication?

TINA: I had always wanted to write a book. Unfortunately, someone once said I couldn’t. I believed them and over the years I never tried to.

But I had a point to prove and was tired of living with the regret.

What urged me to publish were the thirty people that read it as I wrote it. Otherwise, it would still be sitting on my laptop!

SADYE: Tell us something about your writing process that’s unusual or that you haven’t revealed before.

TINA: I have to listen to music as I write.

SADYE: What have been the most surprising, rewarding, and challenging parts of your writing career?

TINA: The most surprising would be that people actually like my books.

The most rewarding would be the accomplishment, and the most challenging would be keeping up with all the social media and marketing.

SADYE: What has been the most touching or memorable piece of reader feedback you’ve received?

TINA: The most touching reader feedback that I have had to date would be when a reader who normally would not read an age gap romance, especially with the heroine being older.

She took a chance on me, and her words were that she was “totally enthralled.”

SADYE: What advice, as relates to your writing career, would you give your younger self?

TINA: Never let the words of another stop you from writing that book!
