The shortlist for the Swansea University Dylan Thomas Prize has been announced.
The award is among the most prestigious for young writers and honors the best international literature from those thirty-nine and younger.
This year’s contenders include four debut works (three novels, one short-story collection).
The winner of the £20,000 (about $27,500) prize will be announced May 13; here are the contenders:
