Jane Austen fans can stay at yet another property where the famous novelist once resided … sort of.
Literary Hub reports that the owners of Godmersham Park, owned for a time by Austen’s brother and believed to have inspired Mansfield Park, are renting out space to vacationers.
The catch? They won’t be staying in the main house; they’ll be staying in an outbuilding known as the Byre, which is another word for cowshed.
(But yes, upgrades and amenities are in the works for it.)
Lit Hub shares Austen’s nieces’ memories of their aunt visiting Godmersham Park as well as a link to Kent Online’s coverage of the modern version.
Godmersham Park is in the British county of Kent, between Ashford and Canterbury.
