Several author-advocacy organizations are joining forces to support writers in royalty disputes with Disney.
Initially, the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America stepped up in defense of Alan Dean Foster, who says Disney owes him royalties from novelizations of some of the Star Wars and Alien movies.
The Author’s Guild, Horror Writers Association, National Writers Union, Novelists, Inc., Romance Writers of America, and Sisters in Crime have since joined to form the DisneyMustPay Joint Task Force.
The task force, according to the Guardian, says that Foster’s dispute has been resolved, but that about a dozen other authors have raised similar issues — and they’re urging anyone else affected to come forward.
Disney said, in a statement, that it’s working to resolve the cases.
