Up next for Akwaeke Emezi: A memoir, a novel, and a screen deal

Fans of Akwaeke Emezi have a treat for now and a treat for later.

Literary Hub reports that the author of The Death of Vivek Oji — which was a bestseller and a nominee for several awards — has a memoir, Dear Senthuran: A Black Spirit Memoir, coming out June 8.

Further off is Emezi’s next novel, a romance called You Made A Fool of Death with Your Beauty.

The book will be published in 2022, and its screen version will come out … well, there isn’t an expected date yet, since Amazon Studios just recently won the rights to adapt it.

But, according to Deadline, Emezi will serve as executive producer, and actor Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society will develop it.
