More stars have been announced for the film adaptation of Women Talking by Miriam Toews.

Rooney Mara, Claire Foy, Ben Wishaw, and Canadian favorite Sheila McCarthy are rounding out previously announced talents for the movie: Frances McDormand, who will produce and star, and Sarah Polley (of Away From Her and Alias Grace fame), who will direct.

Women Talking, a 2018 bestseller, features a group of women in an isolated Mennonite colony who are coming to terms with the realization that men in their colony have been drugging and raping them at night for years.

Literary Hub's Jonny Diamond has high hopes for the movie version of it, seeing as the novel is written mostly in transcribed dialogue — and given its director's past accomplishments.

Jessie Buckley, Judith Ivey, and Michelle McLeod were also among the new stars announced; you can read more about their credentials in Deadline.
