For some book clubs, merely having the members all start a book is an accomplishment.
(We’re not throwing stones here, by the way, since we’ve lived in that glass house.)
Other book clubs dream bigger.
Take the Bushwick Book Club, for instance.
Its members, after they read the monthly selection, write songs or poems inspired by the work.
And then they reunite to perform their creations (and, in at least one instance, sip a cocktail inspired by the book as well).
See photos of the Bushwick Book Club performing and read more about them in AM New York.
