A new book written by Washington Post reporters takes a deep dive into the Trump administration’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.

And, the Guardian says, Nightmare Scenario: Inside the Trump Administration’s Response to the Pandemic That Changed History depicts the former president as contemptuous of his task force — which his second-in-command wasn’t even thrilled about leading.

Mike Pence resisted replacing Health Secretary Alex Azar in that role, and Donald Trump would refer to it as “that (expletive) council that Mike has,” according to authors Yasmeen Abutaleb and Damian Paletta.

The Guardian shares more revelations from Nightmare Scenario, for those interested.

The book, which was released today in the US, is currently a bestseller on Amazon.
