A new collection of Zora Neale Hurston’s writing will hit shelves bright and early next year.

You Don’t Know Us Negroes, which comes out January 4, brings together essays from over three decades of the Their Eyes Were Watching God author’s work, according to its blurb.

The material will be grouped thematically but also in such a way that readers can watch Hurston develop as a writer, again according to the blurb.

You Don’t Know Us Negroes features an introduction by bestselling author Henry Louis Gates Jr.
