There’s new work on the horizon from bestselling author Leslie Jamison.

Publishers Weekly reports that she has signed a two-book rights agreement to release Splinters (a nonfiction work) and Risk (a novel).

Jamison broke onto the writing scene with a novel, The Gin Closet, and has since published acclaimed nonfiction (The Empathy Exams and The Recovering).

The nonfiction-in-progress, Splinters, is “a blend of memoir and criticism exploring single motherhood in the wake of divorce, as well as the intertwining of parenting and art.”

And Risk, the novel, also confronts relationships, albeit the imagined one of a Brooklyn couple who try to preserve their marriage by exploring sexual and emotional freedoms.
