Today’s update on book adaptations will be arranged in release order.
First, Apple TV+ has released the full trailer of its adaptation of Isaac Asimov’s Foundation series, which you can watch below (or at Literary Hub, with plenty of commentary).
The first season of Foundation will premiere September 24 and stars Jared Harris, Lee Pace, and Lou Llobell.
Next, we have a tentative retitling for the movie version of Don DeLillo’s White Noise.
According to Stereogum, it’s possibly being called Wheat Germ, a reference that Lit Hub explains for those curious.
Adam Driver, Greta Gerwig, and André 3000 have been cast in the film so far.
And finally, Deadline tells us that the BBC is developing a TV series from Michael Ondaatje’s novel The English Patient.
It’s said to be a “new interpretation” of the book and not a remake of the 1996 movie.
Deadline has a few details about the creative and financial team but no casting news.
