The next edition of David Walliams’s short story collection The World’s Worst Children will feature a slightly different lineup.

A tale about a Chinese boy named Brian Wong has been described as racist by several members of the East and Southeast Asian community, reports the Guardian.

And after meeting with and writing letters to publisher HarperCollins, they learned that the story would be replaced in the upcoming March 2022 edition of the collection.

Podcaster Georgie Ma and Asian Leadership Collective director Anna Chan welcomed the news, according to the Guardian, but emphasized that it’s far from the only problematic depiction of Asians in fiction.

Walliams is a hugely successful children's author in Britain, having sold over 40 million books.
