It seems like we were just sharing excerpts of Louise Erdrich novels on our blog.
But inspiration clearly struck, and we hope the anticipation was just as high for this new release — The Sentence — as it was for early 2020’s The Night Watchman.
The Sentence takes place over the course of a familiarly tumultuous year: November 2019 to November 2020.
It’s set at a Minneapolis bookstore that’s haunted by its most annoying customer; new employee Tookie, who passed her years of incarceration by reading, is stuck solving the mystery of the haunting.
You can read an excerpt of The Sentence at Literary Hub.
