Instead of buying their favorite author’s books — which they already own — perhaps you could send them a postcard … from that author.
The Common Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to publishing and promoting art and literature from global voices, is auctioning off just that: personalized postcards from authors.
Bidding closes December 1 and features the opportunity to send a postcard to yourself or someone else from such authors as Amor Towles, Ann Patchett, Anthony Doerr, David Sedaris, Elizabeth Strout, Emily St. John Mandel, George Saunders, Lauren Groff, Taylor Jenkins Reid, and more.
