An international survey conducted by Nielsen Book reveals which book prize reigns supreme in the literary world: the Booker.
Literary Hub cites The Bookseller’s reporting that the Booker and Pulitzer prizes were best known in both the US and UK, in both the summer of 2020 and 2021.
That said, the regions were split on which one was considered “most important” in those years — the UK still considered the Booker most important, but the US ranked it behind the Pulitzer, National Book Award and Newbery.
Nielsen sought the opinions of publishers, writers, booksellers, and media for its survey.
