Fewer moments are more frustrating to a bookworm than remembering a book but not its title or author.

This seems to crop up, especially, with books from our childhood, given that our memories have a tendency to fade.

Enter a popular modern-day villain … who’s actually turning out to be useful.

An Instagram account called My Old Books began as a celebration of vintage books, but as it grew, more and more bookworms began using it as a place to ask others to help them figure out the name of that beloved childhood book.

The page’s founder, Marie-Pascale Traylor, began incorporating those questions into posts, and she told NPR that about half of the #WhatsThatBook queries have been resolved.

Learning the name of the long-lost book has proved to be a powerful and meaningful experience for many of the seekers, too; you can read some of their stories at NPR.
