Cargo drama has affected many an author in the past year.

However, that bad luck manifested differently for cookbook writers Mason Hereford and Melissa Clark.

Turkey and the Wolf: Flavor Trippin (Hereford's) and Dinner in One (Clark's) were both printed, but the copies were on a container ship that hit a storm in January, reports NPR.

Sixty containers fell overboard, while eighty others were damaged.

The authors, whose publication dates were subsequently pushed back several months, at least wrote good-humored Instagram posts about their terrible luck.

See how Hereford and Clark shared the news about their cookbooks sinking on NPR's website.
