As you might guess from its title, the short-story collection Anonymous Sex is certainly for mature audiences.

But the word "anonymous" works both ways in this case: the twenty-seven authors who contributed stories are identified as contributing, but their names aren't attached to the tale they wrote.

So it's up to you to guess, if you want, which one came from Louise Erdrich, Rebecca Makkai, Chigozie Obioma, Téa Obreht, Helen Oyeyemi, Jason Reynolds, Paul Theroux, Luis Alberto Urrea, and the others.

Reviewers for the New York Times and the Guardian agree that some stories absolutely thrill, while others miss their mark — though they differ on whether the conceit of erotica with just the hint of an attribution works.

You can be the judge, should you so choose, as Anonymous Sex was released earlier this month.
