Celebrity book clubs have released their picks for April 2022.

Reese Witherspoon selected True Biz, by Sara Novic.

The novel takes place at a residential school for the deaf, whose students and leaders alike face a series of crises in their personal and professional lives.

Jenna Bush Hager picked Memphis, by Tara M. Stringfellow.

The story traces three generations of Black women in the South and how they overcome the violence that has marked all of their histories.

Good Morning America chose Lessons in Chemistry, by Bonnie Garmus.

The book follows a chemist-turned-cooking-show-host in the 1960s and how she uses her platform to encourage other women to challenge the status quo.

You can read an excerpt of Lessons in Chemistry in GMA's announcement of its choice, and Lit Hub has a different passage from Garmus's debut novel.
