A new literary prize aims to honor mid-career authors, to both celebrate what they’ve done and encourage them to continue.

This award — the Chowdhury Prize in Literature, worth $20,000 — was given out for the first time this week to Christos Ikonomou.

Ikonomou has written four collections of short fiction: The Woman on the Rails, Something Will Happen, You’ll See, Good Will Come From The Sea, and The Volcano Daughters.

You can read more about the Chowdhury Prize and why judges selected Ikonomou at Literary Hub.
