The award is among the most prestigious for young writers and honors the best international literature from those thirty-nine (the age at which Dylan Thomas died) and younger.
Lockwood was announced as the winner of the £20,000 (about $27,500) prize Thursday.
The prize's chief judge praised the winning book for being a "searingly witty and innovative take on modern day internet culture, and the experience of family trauma in the modern world," reports the Guardian.
Lockwood was the only debut novelist to make the 2021 Booker Prize shortlist, and No One Is Talking About This was also shortlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction.
