Several recent author events in Des Moines — where Fussy is based — offered the option to join via Zoom for those who couldn’t (or didn’t want to) attend in person.
With dinner not yet made and rain pouring down, the choice to use Zoom last night was an easy one for me.
And given presenting author Jason Mott's anecdote about how physically exhausting book tours can be, I wouldn't blame any author for preferring to connect virtually, either.
But like most shifts, the movement from in-person book tour to various virtual versions of connection isn't purely good — or purely terrible.
