NPR has a special question for anyone who has called someplace in the US home.

Which book (or books) best represents (or represent) the US place you've lived in?

This covers the fifty states, plus the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

To get conversations and reflections started, NPR already asked poets laureate, state librarians, bookstore owners, and other literary luminaries to suggest a book (or more) that sums up where they live.

You can read the fifty-plus books for city states (and beyond) on NPR's website and also submit your own picks.
