Two well-known and celebrated authors are getting the Hollywood treatment, according to Literary Hub.

Further along the path is Warner Bros. UK's Emily, an Emily Brontë biopic whose trailer is out.

Hackles are already raised about the film, with director Frances O’Connor predicting — correctly — that historians would point out that Brontë was never known to have a love affair. (Which she does in the film.)

Emily will hit UK theaters in October, with no publicly revealed US release date yet.

AMC, meanwhile, is adapting Invitation to a Bonfire, Adrienne Celt’s 2018 psychological thriller that imagines a love triangle involving a literary couple inspired by Vera and Vladimir Nabokov.

Tatiana Maslany (who previously starred in She-Hulk) and Pilou Asbæk (who played Euron Greyjoy in Game of Thrones) will play the Nabokovs.

Lit Hub thinks it's the first time that the Nabokovs have been portrayed on the screen.
