A perhaps unorthodox way to celebrate author Dorothy Parker — famous for her sharp tongue — on her birthday is to note her uncredited contribution to a famously sentimental movie.

Literary Hub reports that Frank Capra, at one point, asked Parker to "refine some dialogue" in his classic Christmas movie It's A Wonderful Life.
