Neither conservative commentator Dinesh D’Souza nor his publisher would specify what errors led to D'Souza's book being recalled from publication.

However, NPR will be able to crack the case once the corrected version comes out October 25.

That's because one copy of 2000 Mules made it on the shelves of a Barnes & Noble in the San Fernando Valley — and into NPR's possession.

So NPR examined the details in the book that didn't appear in the film upon which it's based and reached out to many identified people or groups for comment.

They've shared their findings on the original print edition of 2000 Mules on their website.
