Today's celebrity book news comes partly from beyond the grave.

The late actress Anne Heche had been working on a sequel to her 2001 memoir in the year before her death, reports The Associated Press.

Call Me Anne, which will be released in January, discusses her relationship with fellow actress Ellen DeGeneres — a landmark coupling because of how rare openly gay celebrities were at that time.

The Associated Press shared a few passages from Call Me Anne, made available by its publisher, in its article.

Heche died in August of smoke inhalation and thermal injuries after a car accident.

Less certain, but also reported by media, is new work from Woody Allen.

The once-beloved director who has fallen from grace in many people's (but not everyone's) eyes, following accusations from his daughter that he molested her, published a memoir back in 2020.

Now, Literary Hub says, Allen has told a Spanish newspaper that he was planning to retire from filmmaking and focus on writing — most likely humorous novels.
