Politico reported yesterday that there are federal efforts to stem the tide of book restrictions and bans.
Democrats have prepared resolutions in the House and Senate that ask local governments "to protect the rights of students to learn," according to lawmakers and a draft copy of the legislation.
According to Politico, the House version references a Supreme Court decision that schools cannot limit content in a “narrowly partisan or political manner.”
It noted that the resolutions would face an uncertain path to a vote, but didn't elaborate further.
