Congratulations to author Saba Sams, who has won the 2022 BBC National Short Story Award!

Sams wrote "Blue 4eva," which appears in her debut collection (Send Nudes), when she was just nineteen, according to the Guardian; she's now twenty-six.

"Blue 4eva" explores the complicated dynamics revealed during a newly blended family's vacation in Spain.

You can read "Blue 4eva" in the Guardian or listen to it on BBC Sounds.

The BBC National Short Story Award is run jointly by Cambridge University and comes with a £15,000 prize (about $16,900).
