Unsurprisingly, demand for Booker Prize-winning novel The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida has skyrocketed.

And, perhaps also unsurprisingly, some readers are unwilling to wait or pay for it.

The Guardian reports that author Shehan Karunatilaka has gone on social media to request that readers not make use of — or share — a pirated PDF version of his second novel.

The distribution of print copies of The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida has apparently been delayed in Sri Lanka, where the author is from, and even when copies are available for purchase, they're flying off shelves.
