Christmas is just around the corner, so hopefully you've finished picking up gifts if you have an exchange planned.

Meet the girdle book, designed to be always at the ready for its owner to consult during the 14th to 17th centuries.

You've possibly seen them in artwork — there are some 800 pieces of art that depict them — but just twenty-six have survived to today.
