Oops — Dictionary.com's word of the year for 2022 slipped our notice!

That honor was revealed as going to the word "woman" last month.

Dictionary.com's editors cited the increased conversation about gender and identity issues, in announcing the selection.

They also pointed to one particular spike in lookups in late March 2022 — a 1,417 percent increase over the previous year, to be specific.

That came after Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson was asked, during her Supreme Court confirmation hearing, to define the word "woman."
