Dracula by Bram Stoker has been adapted for the screen hundreds of times.

But that hasn't stopped more folks from turning to it for movie material.

Literary Hub alerted us to the latest incarnation: Renfield, starring Nicolas Cage as Dracula, which will come out April 12.

Why the new title? Because this version is told from the perspective of minor character Renfield, a servant of Dracula's who's also a patient in an English sanatorium in the original novel.

Specifically, in this adaptation, Renfield is working to free himself from Dracula's employment.

Based on the trailer for Renfield, Lit Hub thinks the movie feels like an "SNL sketch written by English teachers" — but time will tell if the full film will have anything meaningful to say beyond the camp.
