A beloved high school teacher once told my class that she always watched movie credits, after learning that a friend's child had grown up to be one of those names that appears at the very end.
I'm a little better about reading what's at the end of a book, but admittedly I'm not perfect.
If you're a regular acknowledgment reader, though, you might recognize a particular name: Jennifer Hershey.
Hershey is the publisher and editor in chief of Ballantine Books — and also an editor who has shaped such novels as Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid, Mad Honey by Jodi Picoult and Jennifer Finney Boylan, and many more.
Hershey shared what it's like to have worked on bestselling novels — and to have received profuse, public thanks for doing so — with The New York Times.
