Florida Democrats are hoping to make an example out of Governor Ron DeSantis.

DeSantis drew national attention (and ire) for his state's recent law requiring teachers to remove books from their classrooms until they can be reviewed by a media specialist certificate, if those books aren't on a state-approved reading list already.

One book that doesn't appear on that list? The governor's new book, The Courage to Be Free: Florida's Blueprint for America's Revival.

The Florida House minority leader identified seventeen parts of the book that, under the state law, could serve as reason for schools to review it before making it available, according to Newsweek.

The governor's press secretary responded to Newsweek's request for comment with a clip of DeSantis saying he wouldn't waste time on stunts.
