In the spirit of Pride Month, here's a story on how librarians helped change attitudes about same-sex relationships.

It comes from JSTOR, which explores the work of the Task Force on Gay Liberation of the American Library Association. 

Though it took nearly two decades, these librarians and their allies changed the way content about homosexuality was shelved — and, literally and figuratively, labeled.
