Think before you tweet — and maybe check your sources, too.
The Guardian reports that Twitter users were mocking British politician Jeremy Corbyn for a poetic tweet he sent, calling the verse pretentious and "utterly dreadful."
The assumption was that Corbyn wrote the lines – but, in fact, the work came from a well-known and celebrated poet.
Specifically, he was (again) quoting from Percy Bysshe Shelley’s "Masque of Anarchy" to plug the poetry anthology he helped curate.
But the Guardian's Stuart Jeffries notes that perhaps the online critics have a point, albeit not necessarily the one they thought they were making.
Head over to the Guardian to enjoy a relatively tame and harmless Twitter brouhaha from afar.
