Writers of all kinds are taking a variety of steps to keep their content away from artificial intelligence companies.

The New York Times reported on a variety of creative professionals, from fan-fiction writers to visual artists, and content-related companies, like online forums and news sites, who are at least seeking to make money if AI uses their material (if not outright blocking them from doing so).

That article also mentioned lawsuits being filed by big-name authors, something that NPR covered in more detail, along with the high-profile authors who have signed a letter asking the tech companies not to use their work without express permission.
