Horror gets all the attention during October, but given the scorching temperatures in the central US right now, we think it deserves some time in the spotlight now.

(But not too long — did we mention it's hot?)

NPR's Ayesha Rascoe chatted with horror writer Joe Hill over the weekend to see which chilling reads he recommends, depending on what you're looking for.
