Author Hilary Mantel’s final book will come out next month.
A Memoir of My Former Self: A Life in Writing collects four decades of her journalistic writing; it will be released October 19 in the UK and October 24 in the US.
Works in this volume include her 2017 Reith Lectures, published in the same place for the first time, as well as pieces on her health struggles, her time living abroad, and her film reviews.
Publisher Nicholas Pearson says that a "complete pattern of her life and its many interests emerges in prose that is endlessly dazzling," according to the Guardian.
Mantel received worldwide fame — both critical and popular — for her Thomas Cromwell trilogy set in Henry VIII's reign; she died after a stroke September 22, 2022.
