"Stamped From the Beginning" is now a documentary

Ibram X. Kendi's book Stamped From the Beginning has been adapted into children's and graphic-novel versions.

And now it's coming to a screen.

Variety got to announce that Roger Ross Williams has turned Kendi's 2016 bestseller — a frequent target of bans and challenges — into a hybrid documentary and scripted feature.

The movie will premiere on Netflix on November 20; you can watch the trailer for the Stamped From the Beginning documentary on YouTube.
