There's no shortage of reading lists for those seeking to understand the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians right now.

The Guardian has chosen to highlight two books on the topic in particular, though — because both have climbed up The New York Times' nonfiction paperback bestseller list.

Read a little bit about how The Hundred Years’ War on Palestine: A History of Settler Colonialism and Resistance, 1917-2017 by Rashid Khalidi and Israel: A Simple Guide to the Most Misunderstood Country on Earth by Noa Tishby differ (beyond, of course, their authors' origins) in the Guardian.

And one more note on how this conflict has affected the literary world ...

Over 2,000 poets and writers are boycotting the Poetry Foundation and its journal, Poetry, because the magazine has shelved, indefinitely, a review of a work that "engages with anti-Zionist politics" to avoid looking like it's taking sides in the conflict.

You can read a letter from four of the boycotters at Literary Hub.
