Author A.S. Byatt has died

A.S. Byatt, the celebrated author and literary critic, has died at the age of eighty-seven.

Her publisher confirmed the death.

Byatt was perhaps best known for her Booker Prize-winning novel Possession, whose publication came in the midst of her Frederica Quartet, and the Booker shortlist choice The Children’s Book.
