Best-of-2023 lists: Covers and audiobooks

Have publications finally gotten the year-end reflection out of their systems?

It's been several days and we have just a few best-of bookish lists to share.

Two of them focus on the outside, not the inside: The New York Times Book Review's art director picked the best covers of 2023, while Literary Hub had nearly fifty designers choose their favorite book covers of 2023.

The other, Libro.fm's most popular audiobooks of 2023, does focus on content and is based on sales data, not opinion.
