Tripping on Utopia discusses the early research of anthropologist Margaret Mead and her husband into psychedelics and its contribution to later secret CIA experiments with the substances.

The latter: Luke Winkie wrote a piece in Slate about going to a twenty-four-hour marathon reading of Moby-Dick by Herman Melville.
